Become a Foster Parent for FOSMAS
The shelter is inundated with surrendered or stray kittens and cats, especially duriing kitten season. We strive to to get as many of these homeless kitties as possible out of the shelter and into foster homes. Our foster homes provide loving care and socialize these waifs. We need foster homes for both orphan pre-wean kittens who must be bottle-fed frequently; and for older kittens and adults too. Please contact our cat foster coordinator, if you have space in your home and your heart for these homeless kitties.

Look what a difference a foster home can make:
Meet Riley, a sickly kitten removed from the shelter and placed in a loving foster home:

Meet Punkin, who spent several weeks being treated in the Vet Room at the shelter before going to a foster home. She'd lost most of her fur due to allergies and skin conditions:

Are Dogs More your Cup of Tea?
We still need knowledgeable fosters for dogs and puppies. Fostering dogs is a bit more involved, so please speak call (408) 681-3788 to see how you can help.
Or, to volunteer at the San Martin Animal Shelter, please call Brigid Wasson at (408) 686-3900.
