In this economy, many folks are losing their homes or being forced to move, and giving up or abandoning their animals. We need your help more now than ever before. Even what you may consider a small donation can go a long way in saving little four-legged lives. And while we always welcome cash donations, there are other ways that you can help our homeless animals, too.

Do you shop online or perform internet searches? Of course you do! FOSMAS has teamed up with Goodsearch.com. See our home page for more info. You can download the Goodsearch toolbar, or just go to the goodsearch site before searching or shopping. Most major online retailers are participating, and Goodsearch has coupons too (check out their home page before you start shopping). Every time you shop online or search, a donation is made to FOSMAS. It couldn't be easier.

eBay Giving Works - Do you sell on eBay? When you list your item, you can designate 10% to 100% of your proceeds to be donated to FOSMAS. Just look for the eBay Giving Works option and select FOSMAS Friends of San Martin Animal Shelter. After listing your item, it will display the Giving Works symbol: Donations are cleared through Mission Fish, and your donation may be tax-deductible.

Donate a used vehicle - Charity Auto Auction will accept your vehicle, release you of all liability, auction it to the highest bidder, and you may be elegible for a charitable deduction. . Employer Matching: Don't forget to ask your employer if they will match employee's charitable contributions. If FOSMAS is not listed as one of their approved charitable organizations, we can work with them to obtain the required documentation and the approvals. Some local employers will match 100%, up to $1,000 per employee per year.

A wonderful way to say thank you or to send birthday greetings: Recently we received a donation from Gayle S. of San Jose, in honor of Dr. M.A. Gayle's note said: "My doctor, M.A. is a supporter of your organization and I wanted to make a donation to something that she supports.   She is a fantastic physician and has recently done some very kind things for me and my family." FOSMAS occasionally receives in memoriam donations in memory of a loved one that has passed away (both people and animals), but we thought this was a wonderful way to say Thank You...or Happy Birthday, Happy Holidays, or any other occasion. SUPPLIES: The Shelter and FOSMAS has a continuous need for supplies such as stainless steel dog and cat feeding bowls, kitty litter, towels and blankets. Newspaper for lining the cat cages is always needed. Even things you wouldn’t normally associate with the shelter, such as bleach, paper towels, and plastic spoons are needed. Soap bars, washing machine detergent, and office supplies are urgently needed too. Anything that is used in an office, we need too. So please help us to help our animals!

DONATE FOR EMERGENCY SURGERIES: The shelter does not have the money (or equipment) to perform many life saving procedures. However, we are now accepting donations specifically with this intent. All monies collected would be used for X-rays and/or other procedures which would make sick or injured animals healthy again and adoptable to the public. These are also procedures which the shelter or FOSMAS must contract with other veterinarians and vendors. Animals are taken to local animal hospitals for these procedures, and then returned to the shelter or our foster homes to recuperate. This fund directly relates to FOSMAS' goal of increasing adoptions and decreasing euthanasia at the shelter. Remember, every animal that we make well is an animal that can be adopted.

GENERAL:
Newspapers, blankets, towels, bleach, detergent, stainless steel bowls, pet toys, collars, and leashes. Please donate these items to the shelter any time during regular business hours.
